During filming, John Boyega went into a strict workout and diet regime. One day, when he was hungry, he went to Carrie Fisher's trailer. When he told her that he was sick of eating healthy, she offered him chocolate bars and candy she had stashed inside her fridge. Since then, he occasionally went to her trailer whenever he wanted a "cheat day" from his diet. He later said "I failed my diet because Carrie Fisher told me to. And it felt great".
