At one point this film was to star real life MMA fighter and mother, Cat Zingano. After Zingano turned down a fight in the UFC (allegedly at Berry's request), Zingano was subsequently cut by the UFC. Adding insult to injury, Zingano was then told by Berry that she could no longer star in the movie as she was no longer an active UFC fighter, showing Berry to take the lead role.
