In season 3, the Czech president appears to be an American style president with powers to e.g. approve foreign military presence in the country. In reality, the president is largely a ceremonial office, while the head of the executive branch and the most powerful official is the prime minister - as in a number of European countries, like Germany, Italy, Austria or Croatia.
