In "The Magical World of Disney" episode "The Plausible Impossible", Walt Disney introduces us to an edited version of the "Night on Bald Mountain" sequence from this film. During the introduction, he calls Chernabog "The Prince of Darkness, Satan himself...." So either Disney did not know his name was Chernabog, and assumed it was Satan or it was Satan and the Disney company gave him the name Chernabog later on, as Satan is not a very good name for marketing reasons.
