Boris was originally named Yaz in the script and during pre-production. It could be possible that the name change was suggested by Rick Baker, who was a huge fan of Boris Karloff (the title character's monster in Frankenstein (1931)). It could also be from fear of a lawsuit from either Yazoo or Yaz.
