The novelization reveals that once Mechagodzilla's personality is fully formed by Ghidorah's consciousness hijacking the Mecha and devouring Ren's mind, the Mecha's newborn consciousness "did not know who it was, or what it was, but it was full of rage and the black joy of finally being".
