The character SFC Bob Brown is said to have three college degrees before enlisting in the Army. With his college educations he could have easily entered the military as a commissioned officer (which requires at minimum a Bachelor's degree), but Brown chose to enlist instead to be among the "shooters" and not the "cake-eaters."
