The 2021 MonsterVerse film Godzilla vs. Kong (2021) has some similarities with this film, though it is part of a different franchise. In Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), two mega creatures Godzilla and Kong fight each other until they become allies of each other at the end, similar to Batman and Superman. After turning into allies, they face off a man-made monster, Mechagodzilla, which was built to destroy them, similar to Doomsday. Also, Kong kills Mechagodzilla with a supercharged axe, a similar fashion of Superman killing Doomsday with the Kryptonite spear. It is to know that neither Godzilla or Kong faced Mechagodzilla in any previous film.
