Screenplay writer Shinichi Sekizawa revealed that Kong won the final battle in a unproduced script for a planned sequel he wrote called "Continuation King Kong vs Godzilla" . The story picked up right after the events of "King Kong vs Godzilla" and had Godzilla lying dead at the bottom of the Ocean off the coast of Atami where the final battle took place.
