The IMAX 65mm format was earlier considered, as used in Il cavaliere oscuro (2008), but it was eventually ruled out due to extensive hand-held camera usage throughout the shoot. Due to its weight, it cannot be operated hand-held. However the film was later converted to fit into the IMAX format.
