This film pairs Anthony Edwards with Susan Sarandon. Edwards had worked with her then-partner Tim Robbins in Top Gun (1986). The following year, with Batman Forever, Schumacher would cast another Top Gun (1986) cast member; Val Kilmer; opposite Nicole Kidman; who was married to Tom Cruise.
