When Diana, Steve and Barbara visit the shaman, Diana deduces that the dreamstone was created by Dolos, a god of evil mischief whom she describes as a duke of deception. In the Wonder Woman comic book, the Duke of Deception was a recurring super-villain in the early days (1940s) of the Wonder Woman comic. He was a servant of the god of war, Mars (Ares).
