Contrary to popular belief, the entire third act of this movie was not re-shot. The only added shot was Will jumping over the bars of the stable into which Laura locked him, because the studio felt that extra action was needed. The shot cost nearly a million dollars, which Nichols called "seven hundred thousand dollars' worth of aspirin for the studio."
