Long before Nancy Stafford, Clarence Gilyard Jr. and Daniel Roebuck joined the cast, respectively, they were all lifelong fans of Andy Griffith's, by watching The Andy Griffith Show (1960), as children. Stafford replaced Linda Purl in season two, Gilyard replaced Kene Holiday in season four and Roebuck replaced Gilyard in season seven.
