The final fate of Obsidian and Strika isn't made entirely clear by the end of the series. When we last see them, they are drifting in Cybertron's orbit, alive but seemingly unable to locomote. Originally, the series finale would have featured a scene in which they return to Cybertron but decide not to adopt new, Technorganic bodies like the rest of the Cybertronians have, as self-punishment for their crimes. Thus, they remain the only two fully mechanical Transformers in the mythos. This scene was however cut for time.
