When the Russian identifies himself as Ivan Chechov, Murphy (Norman Reedus) responds, "This here is McCoy. We find ourselves a Spock, we got an away team." Never once did the original series refer to departing personnel as an "away team." Departing personnel were always referred to as a "landing party." That "away team" nonsense didnt begin until Next Generation.
