Sir Ridley Scott's first exposure to early Alien (1979) drafts were sent to him by Sanford Lieberson, then head of Twentieth Century Fox's London headquarters. Lieberson had seen Scott's I duellanti (1977) and was adequately impressed to consider the neophyte filmmaker.
