Running for nearly 18 years and (as of this writing on April 2021) still on the air, NCIS is 7th longest running scripted primetime TV series made in the US, as well as the second longest running live action scripted US television series as of 2021 and also one of the longest running crime action/police procedural series, only to be surpassed by Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, which is on the air since 1999.
