On the night before filming on Day 5, the film's DIT was hit by a car who then stopped to help, which ultimately saved his life. Early the next morning, the film production team flew in a replacement DIT from the East Coast. The DIT remained in a Lubbock hospital for 8 weeks after filming in order to gain stability to be transported home. He has recovered and is back to walking and working again.
