Director Brad Silberling and executive producer Arnon Milchan had two family movies that not only came out in the same year. But they also had two co-stars from Stoffa da campioni (1992) franchise cast in them as well. Garette Ratliff Henson, who played Guy Germaine, starred as Christina Ricci's character Kat Harvey's crush in Casper (1995), which was Silberling's feature directorial debut. Marguerite Moreau, who played Connie Moreau, starred as Jason James Richter's character Jesse Greenwood's crush Julie in Free Willy 2 (1995), to which Milchan served as executive producer.
