The 'Sahara' (1983) cinema movie shares the same 'Sahara' title as a 1940s Humphrey Bogart WWII actioner 'Sahara' (1943). The Brooke Shields starring Sahara (1983) was actually first released in the 40th Anniversary year of the black-and-white war movie adventure-drama 'Sahara' (1943). Both pictures of course feature the Sahara Desert as a setting which was portrayed by the Israeli Negev Desert in the 1983 film and by the Southern California Desert in the 1943 movie. The name was used again for a major theatrical feature film with the treasure-seeking suspense-adventure 'Sahara' (2005) where this time the famous title location was portrayed by the Moroccan Desert.
