This is not the first time that Dub Taylor and Denver Pyle worked together as you can find them together in The Andy Griffith Show: Mountain Wedding (1963). Denver plays the Darlings father and Taylor plays a brief role as a preacher at the end of the show where he marries Charlene and Dud.
