This movie is not actually the first movie or television production to use this title. Spectre (1977) was the first, broadcast in the same year as La spia che mi amava (1977). That teleplay featured James Villiers, who later portrayed Bill Tanner in Solo per i tuoi occhi (1981), coincidentally, the last time that Ernst Stavro Blofeld unofficially appeared in the official franchise.
