In selective episodes of the showcase round, retired host, Bob Barker was the only emcee who has said to another contestant, they had to be closer than their opponent's difference, whether large or small, without going over was of two reasons. One was because it is true and a fact in winning the showcase and the other was when either his/her opponents's difference is a little too much or too small, that can put the pressure, on the following contestant, in fear of going over.
