2 years after the series ended, Lena Headey was cast as one of the most hated characters in television history Cersei Lannister in the groundbreaking HBO fantasy drama series Il trono di spade (2011). The TV series, based on George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Fire and Ice" book series, took place in the fictional medieval fantasy land of Westeros as it depicted nine noble families fighting for power and control of the Seven Kingdoms. Lena Headey's co-star Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) would go on to play Sarah Connor in Terminator Genisys (2015). It was her 1st and only time in the role.
