In class, the teacher asks the children what "Cinco de Mayo" means. One student answers that it is Mexico's Independence Day and the teacher agrees. This is incorrect! "Cinco de Mayo", which simply means "May 5th" in English, is a Mexican holiday commemorating the victory of the "Battle of Puebla" in 1862, in which Mexico's small army triumphed over the mighty French army.
