In a 1999 Entertainment Weekly article directly following this film's release, whether serious or not, it was suggested that Julianne Moore should have played Dr. Christmas Jones. This was likely due to the fact that Moore had also played a doctor In Il fuggitivo (1993), who also correctly deduces the hero is impersonating someone where she works - and directly confronts him. Unlike with this film, though, the doctor character there does not subsequently team up with the hero (although there were rumors this was the case in earlier drafts of the The Fugitive's script).
