In 2013, a comic book series titled "The X-Files Season 10" started its run. Written by Joe Harris and published by IDW Publishing, the comics are set after the events of Season 9 of the television show and continue its story while also trying to tie up some of its loose ends. Chris Carter also worked on the comic book as the executive producer and some of his ideas were used in the stories. The main series ran for 25 issues but several miniseries and one-shots written by Harris and Karl Kesel were also released including The X-Files: Year Zero and The X-Files X-Mas Special 2014. Some issues of The Season 10 comic were adapted in 2017 into The X-Files: Cold Cases and The X-Files: Stolen Lives, a pair of audio drama mini-series produced by Dirk Maggs for Audible. The voice cast includes David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Mitch Pileggi, William B. Davis, Tom Braidwood, Dean Haglund, and Bruce Harwood, who all reprise their roles from the television show. "The X-Files: Cold Cases" adapted the stories: Believers (70 min), Hosts (38 min), Being for the Benefit of Mr. X (25 min), More Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man (23 min), Pilgrims (87 min). "The X-Files: Stolen Lives", which continues the story from Cold Cases but also ends on an open ending, adapted the stories: Immaculate (41 min), Chitter (22 min), Monica & John (21 min), G-23 (40 min), Elders (98 min). Since the comic book series' overall plot goes in a completely different direction than the plot of Season 10 and Season 11 of the television show, the comics and the audio dramas are non-canon.
