The novel mentions Oram having dreamt about meeting God while he was unconscious due to the facehugger. Facehugger victims commonly seem to have strange dreams or nightmares with both Kane (in Alien (1979)) and Purvis (in Alien - La clonazione (1997)) mentioning the bad dreams they had. It is implied though that Kane no longer had a strong recollection of the facehugger attack, only an isolated memory of choking that he may be interpreting as a bad dream; Purvis mentioned that he saw 'horrible things' when he woke up, probably alluding to the inside of an Alien egg that was positioned right in front of him as he had been immobilized.
