"The Master of Disguise" was released on August 2, 2002. One week after Mike Myers' film Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002), was released on July 26, 2002. After they co-starred in "Wayne's World", there was some slight competition between the two as to who would be the bigger star. "Master" is seen by some people as a considerably less funny version of Austin Powers.
