Two guys who sit on a bench (or anything else, when no bench is available) and make observations about the main action, appear in numerous story arcs at random intervals, appearing as different people and even occasionally as animals when the situation demands it. Their names are Chauncey and Edward in the earliest story arcs, but then change to the more familiar Chauncey and Edgar.
