Much like Eldon Tyrell in the first Blade Runner movie, Niander Wallace is obsessed with the creation of life and the purpose of society. This is very similar to the character of Mister Weyland, a character from the Alien prequels by Ridley Scott (Prometheus and Alien: Covenant). It has been suggested that Blade Runner and the Alien films exist in the same cinematic universe, primarily because both of the original films were directed by Ridley Scott and have similar themes.
