All of the film's five characters all had nick-names or stage-names and were only ever known by them and never by real names. They were "Harlene" (Veronica Cartwright), "Big Mac" (Bob Hoskins), "Boy Wonder" (Richard Dreyfuss), "Cathy Cake" (Jessica Harper), and "Rex the Wonder Dog" (Stephen Davies).
