In the opening of the movie on Mushroom Planet the Rube-Goldberg contraption that makes "coffee" takes inspiration from Honda "Cog" advert, famous for doing one, continuous, 2-minute take of different parts to finally push a button on the car's key. The advert was done without any CGI, unlike this movie.
