At the end of the 6th season, in the Whistleblower episode, the address of the Scranton Business Park (where Dunder Mifflin is located) is given as "1725 Slough Avenue". Although this show is renowned for using actual locations and businesses throughout the Scranton area, there is no Slough Avenue in Scranton. The American version of The Office was based heavily upon the original series which was set in the United Kingdom. In the original, Wernham Hogg was located in the town of Slough in southern England. Scranton and Slough were both chosen because they represented the most boring post industrial wastelands in their respective countries of origin. The tiny Union Jack flag Michael keeps on his desk is also a nod to the original British series.
