A popular fan theory of fans of Halloween is that Rob Zombie's original intention was that Micheal Myers died when Laurie shot him and all his appearances in the film were hallucination. In the end it would have been revealed that all murders Micheal committed in the film were actually committed by Laurie and she hallucinated Micheal committing them due to developing dissociative identity disorder because of the trauma of the first film and genetically disposed my mental illness. Laurie's inclination to insanity has been confirmed by Zombie in his commentaries and the making-ofs.
