In the season 11 episode "The Confidence Erosion," Raj lets his hair grow curly, because he said when he first moved to America and became friends with Howard, his hair was straight and he wanted to be cooler, so he started straightening his hair. But in the season 3 episode "The Staircase Implementation," when Howard and Raj both meet Leonard and Sheldon, Howard has a very "curly fro."
