Corey Burton, who voiced Shockwave in Transformers (1984) and Transformers: Animated (2007), was approached to reprise Shockwave for the film, but turned it down as he'd done that role too many times. He had earlier been approached to voice Jazz and Brawl for Transformers (2007).
