When the Pursuit Special is introduced the mechanic mentions it has "phase four heads". A reference to the short lived 1972 Ford Falcon GTHO Phase IV. An Australian race car that was supposed to be built and sold to the public to comply with racing homologation rules like the Dodge Charger Daytona. But outcry over public safety caused the government to halt their production making it an extremely rare and obscure car. The mechanic is basically saying he rebuilt the Pursuit Special with old race car parts.
