This is the first Spider-Man movie to be Filmed in Panavision (anamorphic), unlike the previous film which was shot in 3D on the Red Epic. John Schwartzman, who was the cinematographer of the first film was initially going to shoot in Panavision (anamorphic) on 35mm film, but switched to 3D on the Red Epic, due to a mandate by Sony, which was caused by the 3D trend at the time.
