In a 2018 BBC News report, Rachel Grant accused Steven Seagal of sexual assault during the movie's pre-production stage. Having been cast for a role in the film, Grant met Seagal and director Michael Oblowitz for a line reading in a Bulgarian hotel suite, and when Oblowitz left the room, Grant claims Seagal pulled down her top and exposed himself. Grant was later released from the production and claims this was due to her refusal to submit to Seagal.
