There were reports of Rajesh Khanna being upset that Feroz Khan walked away with equal applause for the film. Rajesh had become a super star in 1970 and did not view Feroz as a threat. When the initial trials were shown Feroz was also getting compliments. This was the second time after Aadmi Aur Insaan that the handsome Khan got noticed in a supporting role. Rajesh chose to ignore the competition as he could not do much at that point.
