The character Morgan Edge is a mix between several characters: in the original comics Edge is a media mogul and president of WGBS (rival of Lex Luthor and his company LexCorp), eventually involved with crime organization Intergang lead by Darkseid's second hand Desaad (disguised as Darkseid). His alter ego, Tal-Rho, is a variant of H'El, a Kryptonian survivor (later revealed as a clone of Superman when he still was a baby) with the mission to preserve Krypton's legacy no matter how. His later merge with the Kryptonian artifact known as Eradicator (destroying it for absorb it and after using traveling to the Sun to activate all its power) comes from the post-crisis Superman regular series (1987-1993). In it was revealed that Superman's ancestor Kem-L created Eradicator 200,000 years ago not only for killing an alien priest being known as The Cleric (who preached against the use of clone technology) but to preserve Krypton's highest ideals and lifestyle. The Cleric survived the attack and he taken away Eradicator as one ship for him and his followers to leave Krypton, not knowing that Kem-L had linked the DNA of each Kryptonian with the Eradicator for that any Kryptonian would die if left the planet. Eradicator kept alive The Cleric for 200,000 years in a little asteroid orbiting Warworld, until that Superman met him during his space exile. Back on Earth, Eradicator tried to control Superman to recreate Krypton but it was defeated and launched against the Sun to be destroyed. However, Eradicator survived and it used the energy of the Sun to rebuild it, replicating Superman's body to continue its mission to resurrect Krypton.
