The character Scorponok made his debut in the Headmasters episodes that comprised the final season of Transformers (1984); since these episodes are set shortly after the events of Transformers - The Movie (1986) (which was set in 2006), it is likely that Scorponok's first appearance on the series was also set in 2007. The film is set in the then-present day of 2007, and one of the first Transformers seen is Scorponok.
