Mr. Mooney, the father of Elisabeth Shue's character, was played by Laurence Luckinbill who since 1980 has been married in real life to Lucie Arnaz, the daughter of Lucille Ball and player of that role in the sitcom Here's Lucy (1968), in which her mom's boss Harry Carter was played by Gale Gordon. Young Lucie had also played various guest characters in her mom's earlier comedy series with Gordon, Lucy Show (1962), in which he had also played Lucy's boss but that time by the name of Mr. Mooney.
