Joel Schumacher disliked the idea of having Billy Dee Williams play Two-Face so much, he decided to pay his acting fee in full as required by his play-or-pay contract for any possible sequel featuring the character. Two-Face, like Val Kilmer's Batman, should be considered the same character that appeared in Batman (1989), despite the recast.
