The film has the first appearance of the Falcon's companion, Redwing. In the comics, Sam Wilson has a real falcon bird companion called Redwing, which he had a psychic link to not only that bird, but all birds which allowed him to see and hear through them. It is that link to Redwing that is the root for Wilson's superhero name of the Falcon; the wing harness that enables him to fly came later courtesy of King T'Challa aka The Black Panther. In this film, all that is simplified by making Redwing a small mechanical aerial drone the Falcon can use for scouting purposes with an audio-visual link.
