Angela Lansbury almost didn't record the title song due to a mix up. In order to prepare to record her vocal for the movie, she was sent a rehearsal tape. Instead of getting a copy of the movie ballad, Angela was accidentally sent a copy of the pop version of the title song. Once the mix up was fixed, Angela agreed to sing. She recorded the song in her first take which was used in the movie.
