Jim Carrey's character, Brad Peters yearns about changing his career from working at the Durant Clinic to being a comedian while wandering in the desert with Mike Hammer (Stacy Keach). Jim was already being a comedian in real life. In their first scene together, Mike seriously asks Brad "What are you? A lawyer?". Ironically, Jim portrayed a lawyer in Bugiardo bugiardo (1997).
