Lili Simmons said that after starring in Disney Channel and other family shows as a young teen, it was a welcome change to play an incredibly sexual character on Banshee because she thinks it's fun being sexy. She said being totally naked on set and acting out the graphic sex took some getting used to, but she fully embraced it and pushed aside the idea some have that female sexuality means vulgarity. The role and the nudity ended up being so liberating and empowering, she went on to accept nude roles in other projects.
